PixCompress: Compress WordPress Images Without Changing URLs

Official WordPress.org plugin. Compress the media library on your own server. Filenames, public URLs and dimensions stay the same, so themes and page builders keep working.

PixCompress is a WordPress plugin I designed, built and published on the WordPress.org plugin directory. It compresses JPEG, PNG, WebP and GIF files in the media library while keeping the same filenames and URLs.

No license key is required to compress images, run Compress library, restore backups, or auto-optimize new uploads. Optional paid support plans exist for sites that want them — they do not unlock the compressor.

Why site owners search for WordPress image compression

Heavy media is the usual reason a WordPress site feels slow. Replacing every image URL breaks Elementor, themes and old posts. PixCompress writes over the file in place (with a private backup), so the public URL does not change.

What PixCompress does

  • Compress JPEG, PNG, WebP and GIF on your server with GD or Imagick
  • Keep filenames, URLs and dimensions the same unless you turn on optional resizing
  • Skip animated GIFs and animated WebP
  • Keep the original if compression does not shrink the file, or the result is invalid
  • Restore any image from a private backup
  • Optional WebP copies, media library column, bulk actions, and auto-optimize on upload

Install from WordPress.org

In wp-admin go to Plugins → Add New, search PixCompress, or download the zip from wordpress.org/plugins/pixcompress. Activate, open PixCompress Dashboard, click Compress library.

Product signup and optional plans: itsolutionspot.com/pixcompress.

Who built it

Sk Sirajul Ali, Senior WordPress Developer in Kolkata. PixCompress is plugin engineering listed on WordPress.org — the same kind of work companies hire a senior WordPress developer to own. It is not a second employer.

Questions companies ask before they hire

Is PixCompress free?

Yes. Local compression works after you activate the plugin. A license key is only if you bought an optional paid support plan.

Will it break Elementor or my theme?

No. Public URLs and filenames stay the same. Dimensions stay the same unless you enable optional resizing.

Are images uploaded to your server?

No. Compression runs on the WordPress site with GD or Imagick. Images never leave the site for optimization.

Where do I install it?

From wordpress.org/plugins/pixcompress or Plugins → Add New in WordPress. Then open PixCompress Dashboard and click Compress library.
